Welcome to
Alpha Omega Epsilon
Chi Chapter

Five women stand in a line, all wearing black. Everyone's arms are crossed at the forearm, making an "X" to represent the Chi Chapter. Each member is holding a single white rose and smiling.

Chi Chapter at
George Washington University

In Spring of 2007 a group of young women engineers at The George Washington University were initiated as the Alpha class of the Chi Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon. Since our founding 15 years ago, the Chi chapter has continued to expand while holding strong to our values of Friendship, Leadership, and Professionalism.

A group of 20 college aged women are on forming a pyramid. They are standing on all fours, and piled on top of each other in 3 rows. All of the women are smilling, most have curly hair characteristic of the 80s.

Hisory of AΩE

In the early 1980s there was a national push to interest women in engineering. The female engineering students at Marquette University started meeting in hopes of forming an organization to increase the number of women in engineering. They decided to form a Sorority, and Alpha Omega Epsilon was founded on November 13, 1983. On March 29, 2008, the Chi Chapter was officially founded, and now has over 50 members and 150 alumni

Alpha Omega Epsilon as a sorority has now evolved into an organization with a mission of furthering the advancement of under-represented genders in STEM. There are now more than 45 active chapters in the United States and beyond!
